Shandong innovation shines at 138th Canton Fair

The 138th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) kicked off in Guangzhou province, attracting approximately 33,000 global companies eager to show off their achievements.

Shandong, as a major manufacturing province, joins this event with a group consisting of over 3,100 companies, showcasing their endeavors in developing new quality productive forces.

At this latest event, the province has not only increased its number of participants but also improved the quality of its exhibits. Nearly 40 percent of the enterprises are high-tech, single-item champion manufacturers, or "little giant" companies. Products in high-end equipment, intelligent manufacturing, and green technology have surged by nearly 20 percent.

Shandong has also provided precise services to support its enterprises. Before the 138th Canton Fair, a special procurement matchmaking event attracted over 70 buyers from various regions, including South America, East Europe, Africa, ASEAN and Middle Asia, resulting in over $6 million in intended deals. During the fair this October, the province plans to hold eight more such events to further connect with global markets.

Shandong has won 10 awards at the Canton Fair Design Innovation Awards, including three golds. Four of its companies have also been selected to take part in the new "smart healthcare zone", showcasing the province's cutting-edge technology in medical devices and biomaterials.
