Wang, born in Yantai, East China's Shandong province, became the first Asian female astronaut to conduct a spacewalk during the Shenzhou-13 mission from October 2021 to April 2022. This has not only broken gender barriers but also highlighted the unique contributions women can make in space exploration. It made her a symbol of female achievement in space exploration and a powerful advocate for women in science and technology.
Wang also highlighted the importance of women's involvement in science and technology. She believes that in high-tech fields, women should not be limited by gender stereotypes.
"Women's values should not be defined by gender," she said. "In the aerospace industry, both men and women play crucial roles."
As a role model for women in science, Wang hopes to inspire more young women to pursue their dreams in space exploration. She plans to continue educating about space, aiming to plant the seeds of scientific curiosity and space dreams in the minds of the next generation.
